Chiredzi businessman’s wife sues hairdresser for adultery

CHIREDZI – Tsitsi Kurivara who is married to a prominent Chiredzi businessman David Kurivara is suing her husband's alleged mistress for $10 000 for adultery, according to papers filed at the local civil court.
Tsitsi alleges that Chipo Chauke who has a salon near the biggest rank in Chiredzi town has been having a relationship with her husband since December 2015 and she has lost her spouse's love and conjugal rights.
David is the owner of Tinda Lodge, is a Hippo Valley sugarcane farmer and businessman who owns several shops outside Chiredzi.
Tsitsi is accusing Chauke of falling in love with her husband of many years and they are married under Chapter 5:11 of the Marriages Act. She alleges that Chauke had persisted with the relationship despite warnings for her to stop.
The damages demanded by Tsitsi are for loss of love and conjugal rights from her husband and she describes the relationship as unlawful, malicious and illicit association where the accused knows she is dating a married man.
Chauke is defending herself through lawyers Muzenda and Chitsama Associates and argues that the case lacks merit.
She said she never had any relationship with the complainant`s husband which makes her not liable to Kurivara in damages for adultery.
The matter is set to go for a pre-trial conference where issues for the trial will be discussed.
