    Zvishavane woman in court for assisting rapist


    GWERU – A Zvishavane woman who is accused of locking up a girl in her bedroom and had her raped by a man who joined them later has appeared at the Gweru Magistrates' Court facing charges of detaining someone for the purpose of having unlawful sexual intercourse with her.
    Netsai Sibanda (25) of Muike Village under Chief Mazvihwa in Zvishavane lured the complainant to a place which she shares with the accused Philimon Moyo who is still at large.
    The matter appeared before magistrate Judith Taruvinga and Hellen Khosa prosecuted.
    It is the State case that on February 1, 2016 at 3pm Sibanda took the complainant into the bedroom and locked the door from outside without the consent of the complainant.
    She opened the door when Moyo arrived and locked it with the three inside. Moyo allegedly raped the complainant twice at around midnight and this happened in the presence of Sibanda.
    The girl's guardian found the two accused and the complainant at the scene of crime and the matter was reported to Police. The victim positively identified the accused as the one who locked her inside the room.
