Pote donates 40 desks to Chidyamakono High

CHIVI - Prominent Southern Region businessman with operations spanning the Midlands Province, Masvingo and Mash East, Clever Pote has donated 40 desks to Chidyamakono High School, one of the best sporting schools in Masvingo.
Pote made the donations at the school's speech and prize giving day ceremony held on Friday last week. In addition to the desks he also sponsored the event and donated a beast that was slaughtered there and provided food and drinks.
The event was also used to celebrate Chidyamakono Under 17 Girls Soccer Team foe lifting the Copa Coca-Cola national trophy in July this year and the Under 17 Boys handball team that came second in the national finals.
Pote whose name has become synonymous with Chidyamakono's sporting successes because of his support for school teams also sponsored the prizes that were given to the excelling students.
The event was graced by the Deputy Minister of Youth, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment who is also the MP for Chivi North Mathias Tongofa.
Speaking at the occasion, Pote appealed to the community to be united and stand in for each other. He said it was easier to make progress when people are united than when they are divided.
He called upon those with means to help schools in different projects and hence help children. He said such assistance would see children making bigger achievements as happened with the Chidyamakono Under 17 Girls Soccer team which lifted the national trophy.
He urged parents not to concentrate on the negatives that are found in individuals but to also look at the positive things that they do.
"People are doing a lot of good things for their communities but the disheartening thing is that those who are helped concentrate on discussing the negative things. No one is perfect and you should therefore, also look at the good things that people do," said Pote.
Pote urged people not to comment too much on politics when they have little facts on what they are talking about. He said there is also politics in business and a lot of things that are said about him are falsehoods.
"There is politics in business and people talk a lot about things they don't know and I call upon you to pray for us," said Pote.
