    Mirror Bureau Chief wins yet another award


    HARARE - Mirror Bureau Chief for Mash East based in Chivhu Ellen Mlambo has done it for the second time inside a week.
    She has won the Youth Empowerment and Transformation Trust award (YETT) Youthful Voice League Awards held at the Ambassador Hotel in Harare on Wednesday last week.
    The citation says Mlambo got the award for The best Community Female Journalist "having a knack in HIV/AIDS issues" and also paying attention to issues on woman empowerment and other health related issues and advocating through entertainment. She received a certificate and a tablet mobile cellphone.
    Other winners in other categories are Bridget Mananavire from Daily News, Itayi Musengeyi from The Suburban, Angelina Chiwonerwa, a participant of the young Zimbabwe blog, Obey Manayiti from Newsday and Methuli Sibanda from the Sunday News.
    Two weeks ago Mlambo won the Zimbabwe Media Commission Award for Excelling in Journalism While On Work Related Attachment (2015) and this was presented at the Midlands State University's graduation function.
    The National Director on Gender and Media Content Abigail Gamanya was the guest of Honour at the event.
    This year's selection of winners was done under the categories which include Print journalism: comprising of features/ articles published in newspapers and online newspaper publications on contemporary youth issues, Community journalism: publications/ broadcast on contemporary youth issues in the community and online journalism: Online blogs on contemporary youth issues. 
    Some 98 journalists from 30 different media houses were shortlisted for the awards based on their relevance to the Youth Voice Awards.
