    MARUSP CEO to publish golf textbook

    CHIKOMBA - Mabikacheche Rural and Urban Sports Promotion (MARUSP) founder and CEO Elias Tavenganiswa Mabikacheche has set his eyes on publishing a book for use in schools that focuses on golf in the next six months.
    The book will concentrate mainly on the fundamental aspects of the gentlemen's game from the amateur to professional level targeting the rural communities and urban high density children and residents in order to popularise the sport in those areas. 
    Mabikacheche said this during a two day Train the Trainer golf workshop that was held at Madzivire Primary recently which was attended by teachers and heads of schools from Chikomba district.
    "The book mainly targets the rural communities and the urban high density residents and children who are not familiar with the sport," said Mabikacheche.
    He also said that there are particular sections in the book which motivates rural communities that they should not be discouraged in playing the game.
    The workshop was attended by 26 teachers, one school head  Dhliwayo who is also NAPH chairman  were awarded certificates of attendance.
    The teachers were drawn from eight cluster schools which are Chivhu, Zinatsa, Dr Hitler Hunzvi, Masasa, Mudonzvo, Guvakuva, Badza and Runyararo.each received a golf bag and two clubs from Mabikacheche 
    Mabikacheche added that the workshops are held every two years so that when trained teachers leave the gap is not felt.
    NAPH chairperson Dhliwayo said the golf workshop is crucial as it imparts important knowledge about the sport.
    He also appealed to well-wishers to assist golf kits, he also applauded the support from Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Lazarus Dokora for the sport.
    Meanwhile, Chikomba golf association elected its committee during the workshop comprising of the chairman Ansa Giremu, vice chairperson Masline Dundundu, organising secretary Willard Chimombe, vice secretary Viola Bako, Treasurer Prisca Poshai and two committee members Mugadza and Zvemhere.
