Beitbridge man granted peace order against Maspeed

BEITBRIDGE - Martin Muchemwa (30) of Dulibadzimu in Beitbridge has been granted a peace against popular neighbourhood watchman Mutsamwiwa Nyengera aka Maspeed on Wednesday last week by Magistrate Goodwill Mavenge.
Muchemwa filed for the peace order against Maspeed after receiving several threats from him and at one time he was assaulted after an argument over payment of fine to ZIMRA for crossing the border without a stamped passport on November 7 this year.
Although he had paid a $20 fine for the offence Maspeed went on to detain him for a longer period as a way of showing off his powers and an altercation ensued resulting in Muchemwa being punched on the cheek by the accused.
"I have decided to file this order against this man because I feel he will continue being a threat to me," said Muchemwa in his founding affidavit filed with the court under case number B035/16.
The Magistrate ordered Maspeed to refrain from assaulting Muchemwa or cause any damage to his property. crime news
