Zinwa sends 4 directors on forced leave

HARARE – The Zimbabwe National Water Authority (Zinwa) has send its four directors on leave pending termination of their employment as the organisation embarks on a restructuring programme.
Zinwa chief executive officer Dr Jefter Sakupwanya said in a statement to The Mirror that the affected directors are Engineer Israel Rwodzi (Water Supply Operations), Honest Murindagomo (Finance), Engineer Bongile Ndiweni (Projects and Planning), and Engineer Samuel Sunguro (Groundwater and Drilling Services).
He said that the restructuring programme is meant to enhance operational efficiency effectiveness and reposition Zinwa to the full execution of its mandate as spelt out in the Zinwa and Water acts.
He said the new thrust will seek to see water availability for all citizens, resource mobilisation for the completion of water infrastructure projects, improved visibility, collection of outstanding debts, drought mitigation and the maintenance, rehabilitation and expansion of existing water infrastructure.
The resolution to send the directors on leave was made during a board meeting on Thursday last week and the leave is effective from Monday this week.
