Midlands Province still to identify Merit Award winners

GWERU - The Midlands Province, is still looking for the primary and secondary school that will win the Secretary's Merit Award for 2016, Provincial Education Director Agnes Gudo has said.
She said provincial officers are now vetting the schools before the finalists are sent to headoffice in Harare for approval.
Most provinces have however, already announced this year's winners and events to hand over the awards have also been held.
Gudo attributed the long delay in coming up with the winners for 2016 to the backlog in holding the events for the winners for 2014 and 2015 winners.
"We had backlogs since 2014 and it was only in August this year that we held ceremonies to hand over the 2014 and 2015 awards to respective winners.
The process for identifying the 2016 winners is underway. There is a full page on guidelines for identifying the winner," said Gudo.
