CHIKOMBA – An animal Health Inspector at Chivhu Veterinary Office, Rosalla Memory Gundani is on the run after an internal audit revealed that $ 2 391 could be missing.
Chivhu Veterinary service doctor Tafadzwa Mashawi confirmed the allegations. He said Gundani was suspended and her whereabouts are not known.
"I can confirm that she has been suspended and haasi kuonekwa (She's nowhere to be found)," said Mashawi.
The audit report in the hands of The Mirror indicates that there were four missing permit books valued at $1 000, missing stock registers and cards worth $620 and $771 public funds which she failed to account for.
The report also states that disciplinary action should be taken against her for missing security items issued to her and also for failing to account for the public funds during the period September 2014 to May 2016.
The missing security items she was issued with, which had  a potential revenue of $1 620, include four permit books, 34 stock registers and 22 stock cards.
"It is audit suspicion that the security items were used to generate cash that was never submitted for banking. Dipping fees book issued to Gundani was not availed for audit inspection," said the audit.
