Gwanda Council invites bids for street lights

    – The Municipality of Gwanda is looking for a reputable company that will partner it in a project to provide streets lights to the town. The project should be solar based.
The implementation of the project follows complaints by residents against huge bills which are going towards public lighting fee every month.
The Council Treasurer Xolani Dube said interested partners could obtain tender documents from the Municipality offices.
"The tender has been flighted for the solar street lights for Phelandaba road, old Gwanda road, Kalipati road, CBD, Jacaranda Heroes road and Bigben road and we are hoping that sometime in October we will know the results," he said.
The council is looking forward to partnering with sound companies that have effectively undertaken comparable works in the recent past on the supply, erection and repairs of solar street lights.
"Tender documents shall be obtained from the Municipality of Gwanda offices, Corner Lawley Street and 4th Avenue upon payment of a non-refundable tender fee of $20. Sealed tender documents marked with respective tender number should be submitted to the undersigned on or before 12pm on September 30, 2016," read the notice.local news
