    Chirumanzu District to hold Miss HIV competitions


    CHAKA -
    The Zimbabwe National Network of People living with HIV/AIDS (ZNNP+) will be holding Mr and Miss HIV competitions at Chaka Hospital on October 21, 2016 in a bid to deal with problems of stigma.
    All people who are HIV positive are free to enter the competitions.
    ZNNP+ Chirumanzu district focal person Alex Nguruve confirmed the development in an interview. He said such events are held to enhance disclosure of HIV status and also to help the infected not to look down upon themselves.
    "The event is done to enhance disclosure amongst people living with HIV/AIDS so that they don't look down upon themselves but consider themselves at the same level with other people. Every member is free to partake in the district competitions," said Nguruve.
    Nguruve said participants during the competitions will be all people living with HIV in the district who will be willing to take part in the competitions.
    He said this year will be the fifth year since they started holding such an event. He added that from amongst the participants, there will be voted Miss Chirumanzu HIV and Mr Chirumanzu HIV.
    Nguruve said seven winners from the competitions will partake in the provincial competitions that are expected to be held on October 30, this year.
    He added that they are generating money meant for the prizes.Entertainment news
