    Ngomahuru Hospital receives food aid

    - Ambe (bob) Gopal, a Masvingo resident has donated food worth over $600 to Ngomahuru Hospital in Masvingo to alleviate shortages that sometimes cripple the institution.
The donations were made from Greenfield Street in Masvingo recently.
Ngomahuru received, 250kg mealie meal, 100kg sugar, 24litres mazoe, 50kg rice, 50kg flour, 880g yeast, 4kg tanganda tea, two buckets of beans, and three buckets matemba from Gopal and his wife Jayshree.
"The economic times are difficult and we felt that we should do something to help Ngomahuru institution to take care of patients who are truly in need of food assistance," said Gopal.
Gopal has been giving food, blankets and clothes to different charitable homes in Masvingo which he refused to mention.
Ngomahuru is a Government institution but due to financial constraints, the institution is now surviving on individual donors.
"We are having so many challenges due to financial shortages, the Government has no money and our patients are non-paying.
"There are some instances where our patients could go without food and I greatly appreciate efforts made by Mr Gopal to assist us," said Doctor, Parirenyatwa Maramba who works at Ngomahuru.
