    – Former Warriors captain Norman Mapeza has extended his stay at the Midlands based Premier Soccer League (PSL) outfit FC Platinum beyond next year the club's spokesperson, Chido Chizondo confirmed to The Mirror last week.
The lanky coach joined FC Platinum in August 2014 and has been very impressive since then finishing in the top four in the last two seasons and is widely expected to deliver the league this year which has eluded the money bags of local league since 2011 when they were promoted into the PSL.
"I can confirm that Norman Mapeza has extended his stay at F.C Platinum and will be at the club for a long period of time". Chizondo however, refused to be drawn into the contract details citing client confidentiality.
Chizondo said Mapeza's contract was due to expire at the end of the season but the club took into consideration the fine run that they have enjoyed under his stewardship and decided to reward him with a contract extension.
FC Platinum are the current log leaders with 43 points from 21 games followed by Caps Utd with 40 points from the same number of games.
When contacted for a comment Mapeza was quick to dismiss the issue.
"Who told you that I have extended my contract? Go to that person and he or she will give you the information that you want," said Mapeza before he hung up.
Reliable sources who spoke to The Mirror said the gaffer has extended his stay at the platinum miners for another two years.
Mapeza celebrated his contract extension by collecting maximum points at Gibbo Stadium where they dismissed Triangle 1-2 last week.sport news
