    Lennox Mine robbers escape as accomplices are arrested


    There was drama at Lennox Mine in Mashava when gold panners who are believed to be from Kadoma entered the mine resulting in fierce fights underground between the intruders and panners that were already working in the mine.
    It is said that the panners from Kadoma harvested a lot of gold and some gold panners from Mashava entered the mine and tried to rob them.
    Fierce fights erupted underground and gold panners from Mashava were overpowered and they escaped out but ambushed the panners from Kadoma at the surface.
    The gold panners from Kadoma who were suspicious of the ambush did not come out of the mine for three days and allegedly held many other gold panners they found underground hostage and used them as human shield.
    The Kadoma gold panners only identified as Brown and team eventually found an escape route and found another way out of the mine. However they found a Cobra Security guard at that entrance and overpowered him before disarming him.
    They made haste their escape and got a Toyota Noah that was going to Masvingo.
    They found a Police road block five kilometres from Masvingo and sensing danger because Police was already looking for them, they escaped and ran into the bush.
    The driver of the car Tinomuda Elizabeth and two other George Ncube and Tafadzwa Kabatamuswe were arrested for assisting the wanted gold panners in their bid to escape.
    They are now supposed to appear in court facing charges of obstructing the course of justice.
