Commissioner Chihuri preaches at Glory Temple Ministries

    – If Commissioner General Augustine Chihuri is good as a cop then he must be even better as preacher as his three-hour sermon at the Glory Temple Ministries in Masvingo last Sunday left every congregant tongue-tied at the powerful message of Christian love that he delivered.
Commissioner Chihuru who is a war veteran was invited by the church to preach on the day. The invitation was apparently because the Police chaplain in Masvingo Vulinjela Jamela goes to Glory Temple and had listened to Commissioner Chihuri preaching before.
Chihuri was accompanied at the church service by one of his deputies, deputy commissioner general Levi Sibanda and officer Commanding Masvingo, Senior Assistant Commissioner Martha Mofolo.
He preached on God's undying love and used the parable of the prodigal son to demonstrate that love.
The congregants were all ears as he preached and three hours looked like a few minutes as the church-goers still wanted more. He however, had unkind words for some of Zimbabwe's prophets who go outside Zimbabwe to look for spiritual and god fathers.
"There are these boys from Harare who have spiritual fathers from Ghana and Nigeria `and I wonder, how can you say a witch from Ghana is your spiritual father when you have all these people in Zimbabwe to lead you spiritually," said Chihuri.
Two of Zimbabwe's most popular prophets, Emmanuel Makandiwa is a 'spiritual son' to Ghanaian prophet Victor Kusi Boeteng and Walter Magaya who is a 'spiritual son' to TB Joshua. The 'attack'  comes after the prophets have openly criticized the government and its branches as the Police for the rotting economy.
Chihuri urged the prophets to adapt their grandmothers and elders as their spiritual fathers as they can lead them along better parts.
"It is better to go and have your grandmother or grandfather or any elder as your spiritual father as they can actually lead you instead of these fake far off figures who can misplace your trust," he added.
Members of the United Family in Christ Church (UFIC) led by Makandiwa who attended the service however criticized Chihuri for tempering with the spiritual world which he cannot see nor bear witness to. local news
