    Chikomba gets $49 000 from ZINARA


    - Chikomba Rural district council has received $48 900 from ZINARA for the maintenance of roads in the district and this is only 15 percent of $326 000 that the local authority had applied for.
    Council Engineer Shingai Machinga confirmed the development in an interview. Machinga said maintenance will begin with less damaged roads and then spread out to the whole district.
    He said so far they have covered half of the roads which are under routine service. He said the roads include Hokonya-Masasa, Dzidze-Unyethu road and Chigara- Mashayamvura road which will be completed at the shortest possible time. On the Sadza –Mupatsi road, council is working on verge clearing, culvert clearing and grass cutting.
    He however, said maintenance of road is not only done when ZINARA funds are available as it is an ongoing process.
