    – Tinoda Mukutu who was suspended by the local authority to allow for investigations into allegations of corruption is back at work.
He returned to work following a court order issued by the Labour Court which lifted his suspension.
Mukutu who was suspended in April this year confirmed the developments in a telephone interview with The Mirror.
"Yes I am back at work, my suspension was lifted with effect from August 4, 2016. I got the order from Zvishavane Labour Court," said Mukutu.
He contested the suspension as unfair and illegal. He got the order on the basis that the local authority has not carried out any investigations against him although that was the primary reason for the suspension.
Zvishavane Town Council Chairman Esaac Dube also confirmed the developments.
"Yes Mukutu's suspension has been lifted by the Labour court but l am going to contest the judgement because it was illegal, we suspended him in terms of the  Urban Councils act which gives use six months to investigate whatever allegations we have," said Dube.
Mukutu was suspended for insubordinationafter he allegedly dithered on implementing several council resolutions. One of the council resolutions Mukutu is alleged to have failed to implement was the suspension of the director of finance George Jongoni who was facing allegations of embezzling council funds.
He was suspended in terms of Section 139 3(a) of the Urban Councils Act Chapter 29:15 which gives the local authority powers to suspend its worker for six months pending investigation of this case.
