The body of a woman from Mazvihwa in Zvishavane was exhumed after three days after it emerged the cause of her death was murder and not meningitis that had been indicated on the post-mortem.
Police got a tip-off that Dresensia Mubhoyi (28) was hit by a stone by her husband who is understood to be at large and this saw her health deteriorating rapidly leading to her death.
Mubhoyi was buried on July 19, 2016 in Mazvihwa but word started going around that the cause of death was not meningitis as indicated by doctors but assault.
The deceased's brother reported the matter to the Police.
Sources said a new postmortem done at Mpilo Hospital in Bulawayo has indicated that there was some pus in the deceased's brains.
