    Thornhill High student crowned Miss Gweru



    • Drama as model falls off the stage

    - High school students dominated the Miss Gweru Competitions held at Gweru Agricultural Show as they snatched honours ahead of higher tertiary girls.
    The exciting show was however, almost marred by an incident where one of the models fell of the stage.
    While High school students dominated the competitions, none of the models from the Midlands State University got any honours.
    Courtney Venencia Matende, an upper six student at Thornhill High School was crowned Miss Gweru on Friday and she also won a Miss sexy prize.
    Zandile Theodorah Sithole  who was also an upper six student at Thornhill  last year was crowned as first princess and the second princess award was handed over to Michelle Mupasi a student from Mkoba 3 High school.
    There was drama during the show as one of the models falloff the stage as they were modelling.
    There were fireworks at the show as there were local entertainers  like Dj Takura , Dj Mupsy , Legion .
    In an interview with the Queen she said that she was grateful to her parents who supported her, her friends and Mavis Koslek who was the organizer of Miss Gweru .
    "I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my family, friends and Miss Koslek who organized such a function for us ladies to nurture our talents," said Matende.entertainment news
