    Masvingo RDC begins 2017 budget consultations


    - Masvingo Rural District Council has begun 2016 Budget consultations to find out the views of the residents in accordance with the Rural District Councils Act which directs that before any budget is submitted to the Minister for approval, all stakeholders must be consulted.
    According to a notice published last week, the consultations started on August 11 with educational institutions like Gokomere High, Bondolfi Teachers' College, Masvingo Teachers, Morgenster Mission, Reformed Church University, Zimuto High, Riverton School and Great Zimbabwe University attending meetings at the council boardroom.
    Later the same day consultations were held at the same venue with the business community and Nemamwa Growth Point residents in attendance.
    On Monday the consultation committee was at Muchakata Business Centre and Renco mine hall where they met vendors, business community, Renco community, chiefs, headmen and village heads.
    The following day they were back at the Council boardroom where they met all miners in the district from Mashava to the southern part of the district in Masvingo South constituency including all hotels and lodges which are dotted around the Great Zimbabwe Monuments were also met on the same day.
    On Wednesday the committee was at Mashava Council hall where they met stone curvers, vendors, area residents committee, farmers, Gundura community, mineral millers and the business community.
    Today (Thursday) the consultation committee will meet telecommunications companies, Netone, Telecel, Zesa and Econet at the Council before they go to Mazare business centre to meet farmers, chiefs, village heads and the business community.
