    Masvingo NAPH team wins netball gold

    - Masvingo National Association of Primary Heads (NAPH) netball team has scooped gold in the national games after thrashing Mashonaland Central 24-12 in the final game.
    Team Masvingo defeated  6 teams to be crowned champions in the NAPH national games that were held recently in Marondera.
    Team Masvingo under its coach Joseph Rashirai thrashed Bulawayo province 28-16, Mashonaland West 28-14, Matebeleland South 28-2 and the Midlands team 24-17 to proceed to the semi finals were they clashed against Team Manicaland.
    In the semi finals, team Masvingo displayed quality passes with its sharp shooter Vimbai Soja Scoring 15 goals to beat Manicaland 20-14 and book a place in the final game against Mashonaland Central.
    In the final game team Masvingo proved its supremacy by beating Mashonaland Central 24-12 to be crowned Champions and the outstanding performance by the team saw 3 of its players name Nyasha Govere, Vimbai Soja and Renia Mavamba selected into the netball team that will represent Zimbabwe in the COSASA games scheduled for Botswana.
    "I am pleased with the girls' performance and I hope they will maintain this performance throughout the following competitions," said Rashirai.
     Govere who was the defender for team Masvingo was crowned the best defender and also earned a spot in the Zimbabwean team which headed for gold in Botswana.
     Vimbai Soja also won the award for having the most scores throughout the tournament.
    Team Masvingo technical team Nancy Chimuka and Violet Chuma are pleased with the team performance and dedication and are hopeful that the spirit will be carried to the next team.sports news
