    Masvingo City reopens public toilet

    – Masvingo City Council which faced a dearth of public toilets with members of the public sneaking either into Bob's Tavern or Chicken Inn to answer to nature's call has reopened a toilet at the corner of Leopold Takawira and Bradburn Street.
This is near Croco Motors where travelers board buses to Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru and other places. The toilet is where the CBD ends and the industrial area starts.
The reopening of the toilet which is smarter and more hygienic is thanks to the support received from Unilever for its renovation.
Masvingo Mayor Hubert Fidze officiated the opening of the toilet which was held recently.
In his speech Mayor Fidze urged residents to keep their toilets clean in order to maintain good health.
He said that Masvingo was the cleanest town in the country and said efforts should be made to keep the city on top.
Also attending the function were Health clubs from Ward 1 and 4, Environmental Management Agency (EMA) and senior staff from Unilever.
"So far in Zimbabwe, Masvingo is the cleanest city and l hope the community is going to keep the standards in taking care of this toilet," said Fidze.
Masvingo Town clerk Adolf Gusha thanked Unilever for the support in refurbishing the toilet.
The public expressed gratitude that there is now a decent public toilet in the city.
The only other public toilet is at Civic Centre Park.news
