I am not interested in Parliament - Zivhu

    SIMBARASHE MTEMBO

CHIVI - Chivi Council Chairperson Killer Zivhu has said that he is not interested in any Parliamentary seat in the 2018 general election but will seek re-election as a ward councillor.
Zivhu who has been central in the development and implementation of the ZIMASSET blue print in Chivi District made the remarks during the ZIMASSET feedback indaba that was held at Chivi Rural District Council on Friday.
Speaking at the occasion, Zivhu who is speculated to have interests in both parliament and politburo position quashed the rumour and said his heart was in development and the best way to support the people of his district was to remain a councilor and council chairman.
"I have no intention of joining higher governing bodies; I want to remain as a councillor and serve my district, Chivi,"
I will not be joining higher governing bodies until I have left my mark as a councilor," said Zivhu.
Zivhu also urged councilors to be development oriented and not focus on being re-elected as their work in office will justify whether they ought to be re-elected or not.
"Politicians should not focus on elections, they (politicians) should focus more on developing their respective areas for the development of the country," said Zivhu.
Senator Shuvai Mahofa also blasted politicians who are focusing on being re-elected without developing anything in their various constituencies.
"There are politicians who have spent five years in office without even drilling a single borehole in their constituencies; such politicians should not even consider being re-elected,"
We will sit down and evaluate them after their term runs out and see if they are fit for office," said Mahofa.
Josiah Hungwe who is the Minister of Psychomotor applauded the people of Chivi for accepting and implementing the ZIMASSET blueprint; he also urged the people of Chivi to be goal oriented and stand for development in their constituencies.
