    – Fewer farmers attended this year's zonal agricultural show for Nharira which consists of Langshire (ward 14), Nharira (ward 16), Wazvaremhaka (ward 18) and Duvhurwi (ward19) in Chikomba district which was held at Nharira Hall two weeks ago.
The exhibits at the show also dropped sharply.
There were only 95 farmers at the show compared to 220 who attended in 2015 and there were also 435 exhibits as compared to 1150 the previous years.
Agriculture extension show supervisor Paul Bhasikiti attributed the drop in attendance to the drought experienced this year and also lack of money.
He also said that there was a short period between area and regional shows and this left farmers with little time to prepare.
Three extension officers and one supervisor from neighboring Buhera District were judges at the show.
The farmers brought a variety of agricultural produce which included vegetables, fruits and cereals, yokes, weaving baskets, cooking sticks, clay pots for the competition.
The overall winner for this year's show was Ellen Nhuruza of ward 16 Nharira
Joyline Machinga and Maria Bakasa from the Public Service Commision were also present at the show. Chikomba district agronomist Hilda Takawira represented the District Agriculture extension officer Gibson Tokotore who was the guest of honor.
The zonal show chairman Elliot Muchena said the show was however, a success.
