    Chikomba District awarded for supporting Miss Rural Heritage

    - Chikomba has been recognized and awarded for being the best District in Mashonaland East that supported The Miss Rural Heritage Zimbabwe modeling competitions.
    The district was awarded at the function held at Mahusekwa High School in Marondera District two weeks ago and the recognition came from Zimbabwe Multi Talented Youth Association which is based in Seke. Chikomba received a shield for the honour.
    During the function Divine Kureva (16) from Chikomba District was adjudged the best out of the 21 girls who participated in the competitions and she becomes Mashonaland East Miss Rural Heritage Zimbabwe and will go to the national finals.
    Babours Departmental Stores and Applesun contributed towards mobilization of resources for the event. Fosta Gwanura gave sanitary pads to support the girl child. Senate President Edna Madzongwe is the patron of Miss Rural Heritage Zimbabwe.
    Chikomba was awarded for mobilizing participants for the competition and particularly instrumental in the district's mobilization programme were the wife of Chikomba West MP, Virginia Bimha and a local businessman who is the director of Applesun Investment David Marufu.
    Kureva is also an unfortunate girl who dropped from school because she had no money for fees. Her fortunes however, turned around as Brigadier Mutinhiri and Senator Chief Musarurwa pledged to support 16 of the participating girls with fees.
    Kureva will be going back to start form 3 at Murape Secondary School in Seke.
    The event is organized by ZIMTAYA and Ministry of youth assisted in mobilizing contestants.
    The event was attended by ZIMTAYA president Christina Matizha who is also the director of Miss Rural Heritage Zimbabwe, Chief Senator Musarurwa, Chief Chikwakwa from Goromonzi, Chief Nyamukoho from Mudzi, and Miss Africa finalist Hilda Maturure.
    Matizha said ZIMTAYA appreciated the Ministry of youth district head Rodwell Zhande for supporting the 21 girls who participated in the competitions.
    Doctor Marisa who is based in Mashonaland East province also promised to offer free medication services for all contestants for one year.
    'I have passion with vulnerable rural girl child so I will try my best to uplift their lives. It helps to be expose them to a new level of life and build self-confidence among them. I am also planning cultural exchange program with other countries," said Matizha.entertainment news
