    813 exhibitions at Zaka Agricultural ShowLOWVELD


    ZAKA –
    Roman Catholic Church-run St Anthony High School stole the limelight at the Zaka District Agricultural Show held at Feri Training two weeks ago when students brought for exhibition two livestocks.
    Hundreds of farmers turned up for the show that had 813 different exhibitions on display.
    District Training and Agricultural business specialist Esau Mutuzungairi hailed St Antony High school for giving life skills to children through education with production.
    "I'm proud of St Antony because they educate students about several life skills," said Mutusungairi.
    Zaka District Agricultural Officer Kennedy Pedzisai said that he was going to make donations of drip kits to St Antony and Ndanga District Hospital and High School.
    There were two main categories of exhibits at the Show and these are agricultural and artifacts including doormats, pottery products and fashion and fabrics.
    Some of the winners at the Show were, overall winner in home industry Jerina Narwo from ward 4 and best exhibitor was Shuwisai Machinga with 14 exhibitions.
    Silvia Mudzingwa got a Drip Kit machine and best exhibitor was Getrude Hokoyo and also won a Drip kit.
    Speaking at the event, Masvingo Show Society president Phillip Mauta urged farmers to ensure that what they exhibited is their own produce and not to buy from others.
    He said the show was important for marketing products and getting customers. It was also critical for sharing ideas.
    Zaka Central MP Paradzai Chakona urged farmers to use seed that comply with the changing climate for example Seedco S301that mature within 60 days.
