    - Voluntary Media Council of Zimbabwe (VMCZ) programmes officer Faith Ndlovu is among 1 000 African youth leaders who have left for the United States of America on the Mandela Washington Fellowship Programme under the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI).
The programme kicked off two weeks ago and will go on until August this year.
The YALI programme is an initiative of USA President Barrack Hussein Obama which started in 2010 and is meant to enhance leadership skills, promote entrepreneurship and connect young African leaders with one another and with Americans in general.
It is also meant to invest in the next generation of African leaders and support young African leaders as they spur growth and prosperity, strengthen democratic governance, and enhance peace and security across Africa.
During her three months stay in the USA Ndlovu will also have the opportunity to meet USA President Obama.
Ndlovu joined VMCZ in 2014 and some of her duties are to initiate, design and implement interventions to promote a free, professional, accountable and ethical media sector in the country as well as monitoring and evaluating programmes.
