Minister Bimha’s wife opens Vee’s College in Chivhu

    CHIVHU -
Virginia Bimha, wife to Chikomba West legislator, Mike Bimha has opened a private college in Chivhu with enrolment running from form one to form six.
The institution which is called Vee's College was started in 2012.
Amos Mnekani, the principal at the college said the school was growing fast after it started with only a few pupils.
"Vee's College started with few students and was just offering maths as a subject. The enrolment has now grown and the scope of our operations has increased. We now have a centre for 'O' and 'A' levels ZIMSEC exams", said Mnekani
Bimha is also planning to open a University of Health Sciences in the same town.
"As of now, I am making the necessary moves to open a University here in Chivhu that focuses on educating social, physical, psychological and spiritual health workers", said Bimha.
Bimha is a nurse by profession with a Masters degree in Business Administration.
The institute also offers Open Distance Learning (ODL) for all the subjects available at the school.
Gift Chimbunde who is the coordinator of ODL explained the operation of this program.
"ODL is a friendly program that is open to everyone as it is affordable and it produces simplified modules with adequate coverage of syllabus", said Chimbunde.
Bimha said the other plans that she has, were to start projects in the manufacturing, health sector and livestock keeping and dairy related production.
Bimha said the school started in a dilapidated and filthy complex and her efforts, supported by her family saw the place being revamped into a modern learning college.
