MAZ grows from strength to strength

    - Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ) the brain child of Gillian Rusike has grown from humble beginnings with only 40 corporate and less than 200 individual members in 2009 to over 200 corporate and 400 individual members.
This was confirmed by Rusike who is also the executive secretary of MAZ in an interview with The Mirror.
"It was a humble beginning bringing Zimbabwean marketers together so that they can speak with one voice at a time when marketing as a profession was not given the recognition it deserved in the country
"MAZ's mission is to promote marketing excellence, consultancy, research services, human resources database to corporate members, total quality management programs, internship programs for students, excellence through marketing awards, as well as business-related and marketing-centric publications" said Rusike a marketing guru in his own right.
Rusike also said they want to ensure that Government departments and higher institutions of learning take marketing as a separate profession unlike before when everyone was considered a marketer.
"I am happy that most educational institutions are now members and they are adopting market oriented policies, even the Government is adopting the same approach, which was one of our main aims for creating the organisation," he said.
From June 29 to July 2 MAZ will hold its annual Winter School at Great Zimbabwe Hotel in Masvingo for the first time since the formation of the organisation.
