    Masvingo to host international sports leadership workshop

    MASVINGO
    - Sport Leaders Institute of Zimbabwe (SLIZ) is set to hold its third edition Sport Management Winter School with international flavour at a local hotel and Great Zimbabwe Monuments from 22-24 July 2016.
     The thrust of the three-day workshop will encompass lecturing sporting leaders about viable ideas in conflict management, podium athlete management, physical education and also the implementation of the new syllabus which now incorporates drum majorettes as part of sport in schools.
    "The purpose of this workshop is to effectively teach sport leaders about conflict management, physical education, podium athlete management in sport arena.
    "There will be also the implementation of the new syllabus which includes drum majorettes," said recruitment officer Khelise Chauke.
    Practical lessons will be held at the Great Zimbabwe Monuments because there is enough open space for such activities.
    Sports and Recreation Commission director Joseph Muchechetere will give a lecture on corporate governance in sport while Dr Devote Marwa from Dar es Salaam will also be covering sports marketing at the event.
    There will be other high profile presenters from Zambia, Nigeria and Kenya.
    Individuals who are expected to turn up at the workshop include those from the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Higher and Tertiary  Education, SDC leaders, deputy heads and P.E teachers.
