    - This weekend all roads will lead to Dewure High School where winners from the seven districts will converge to battle for the sole ticket to represent the province at the forthcoming national Copa Coca-Cola soccer tournament to be held in Matebeleland South Province end of July.
The U16 boys and U17 girls inter district competitions will see winners from each district tussling it out over two days at Dewure High School in Gutu for the ticket to represent the province at the national finals in Gwanda later this month.
Dewure High are the national defending champions in the boys category while Chidyamakono are the defending champions in the girls category hence they are seede at the finals although they will be taking part at the provincial competitions.
Sport mistress Lindiwe Munatsi from the hosting school, in a phone interview with The Mirror confirmed that they were ready to host the competitions and their teams are ready to defend their home pride.
"Everything is now in place for the competitions. As the hosting school our teams are fully prepared for the jamboree," said Munatsi.
In the boys' category, the competition is expected to be tough as the national defending champions Dewure High School will not have it easy against perennial stubborn rivals like Chibi and Pamushana High Schools who showed no mercy during the district qualifier as they walloped their opponents with reckless abandon.
Despite Chibi losing to Pamushana in penalty shootout last week at Hippo Valley during the U17 NASH provincial games, Ranganai Njodzi Chibi coach said he is itching for revenge through his U16 team.
"I am very confident enough that my boys will defeat every team that we are going to meet including the defending champions, the team is raring to go," said Njodzi.
Three time girls' national defending champions Chidyamakono High School will be facing tough competition from close rivals Ngundu Halt High School who have always basked in their shadow. Last year Mwenezi High represented the province in Bulawayo and they are likely not to let that right slip away easily at the weekend.
The victors from both disciplines will represent the province at the National games scheduled for July 23-25 in Gwanda at Pelandaba Stadium.
