I can’t spend this cold winter in jail – suspect bolts through court window

    TATENDA CHIZU

    CHIVI
    – The prospects of spending 14 days in remand prison this cold July was so chilling for Prosper Chingwende who is a tout at Chivi Growth Point that he bolted out of court through the window.
Magistrate Bishard Chineka had remanded Chingwende who is facing assault and touting charges in custody to July 20, 2016. The remand decision which was passed on the accused last Wednesday left him with no option but to run for the window. A source who attended the court said Chingwende ran soon after the ruling had been made.
"The accused just ran away through the window when he was told that he was to be remanded in custody,"
Other sources who were also in court said the court windows have no bugler bars so it was easy for him to go out through the window.
Police officer Katewe and prison guards chased Chingwende who was caught at Silver City location when he jumped into someone's yard and got into the house.
