    - Commissioners running the affairs of Gweru City Council are working tirelessly to clear salary backlogs at the City Council within the next three months.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with The Mirror, the chairman of the Commission, Tsungai Mhangami said that the Commission is working tirelessly to improve the conditions of work for staff and one of them was to clear salary arrears.
"We are working tirelessly to improve conditions of work at council and our aim is to pay all salary back logs within the next three months," said Mhangami
Commissioner Mike Choga who is in charge of Finance also said council has been engaging the workers' committee to deliberate on salary arrears.
"We wanted to settle these arears long back. However, our negotiations with the workers' committee have been thrown astray because of the changes that have been taking place in the workers' body.
"Right now we are ready to resume negotiations with the new committee. What we really do not want to do is to impose things on them, we want to negotiate and come up with something which benefits everyone," said Choga.news
