    Chirumanzi ‘drug dealer’ sets dogs on Police officers

    CHIRUMANZI
    - A man from Chivige Village under Headman Maramba in Chirumanzu set dogs on Police that had come to arrest him on suspicion that he was  dealing in mbanje.
     Munaro Luckson Kunotsva (35) also clapped a Police officer on the cheek and assaulted another with a knobkerrie. He was only arrested after a bigger group of officers was sent back to arrest him.
    On June 18, 2016 Nyika Nyika a Police officer at Charandura camp went to subpoena Kunotsva over a case.
    The accused took Nyika's phone, threw it away and clapped him on the cheek. Nyika managed to escape and reported the case at Charandura Police station, the court heard.
    On count two, on June 20, 2016 Nyika and other seven officers went back and upon seeing the Police approaching his house, he took a knobkerrie, catapult, axe and metal rod and set his dogs against the officers.
    Prosecutor said the accused hit officer Date Katuka and struck him on the right leg ankle with a knobkerrie. The officers eventually arrested him and took him to the Police station.
    He appeared before Gweru magistrate Florence Nago and was remanded to July 14, 2016.
