    - The economic crisis in Zimbabwe as well as shortage of cash has seen Chiredzi Rural District Council urging its councillors to open bank accounts to receive their monthly salaries.
In a full council meeting that was held on Wednesday last week the Council chairman Edward Matsilele made it clear that Chiredzi Rural District Council is facing difficulties in providing allowances in cash.
"Due to cash shortages we are urging councillors to open bank accounts so that their allowances can be transferred to their banks," said Matsilele.
Councillors said council was giving them a tough time as $80 is too small for them to open accounts rather Council should put the money in EcoCash accounts.
