    - Sixty women-headed households in ward 5 and 10 under Chief Nhema in Zaka have received 4 goats each from Caritas Zimbabwe.
The beneficiaries were trained on how to look after goats by Gilbert Chikore of the Department of Agritex, Veterinary Services representative Shelton Chingwaro and Livestock Production department representative, Chrispen Tukwa.
They encouraged the widows to practice cross breeding in order to improve the breed quality and provide shelter for the goats and to protect them from harsh weather conditions.
The councilor for ward 10 Vangirai Rangarirai said that the goats farming project is a good initiative that empowers people and help in eradicating poverty in the community.
He also said that the training was fruitful as they got the knowledge on the upkeep of goats and curing of diseases.
"I'm very grateful because this project will raise food production and eradicate poverty in our community since these widows can now sell their goats in order to pay fees for their children or to buy food" said Vangirai.
