    – A Rujeko Police base officer in-charge Inspector Mudzingwa is in trouble after he allegedly struck a suspect in the head with a pistol resulting in some bleeding.
A docket has been opened against Mudzingwa for allegedly committing the crime against Charles Chidya on May 7, 2016 at Lucky Seven Store in Rujeko A.
The case number is RRB 2688917.
Mudzingwa allegedly committed the crime when he and a team of officers went to arrest people who had gone on to drink beer at Lucky Seven after its permitted closing time.
Mudzingwa allegedly entered the store where Chidya and his friends were and closed the door and announced that everyone was under arrest and forced all the people to sit down.
Chidya enquired why they were being arrested and who Mudzingwa was because he was not in uniform. That's when Mudzingwa allegedly pulled out his pistol and demanded Chidya to listen to him.
Moments later three female officers entered and  were instructed to arrest the store keeper for opening the shop beyond the closing time and were also told by Mudzingwa to arrest Chidya for asking too many questions.
As they were going out of the shop Mudzingwa allegedly struck Chidya on the head with his pistol leading to head injuries. Mudzingwa then personally drove to Masvingo Central where he instructed that the two spend the night in the cells despite Chidya's bleeding head.
Chidya was released on Sunday morning but was not able to acquire a Police report to go and get treatment. It is alleged that it took the Police two days to offer him the report because they were afraid of Mudzingwa.
Masvingo provincial Police spokesperson Inspector Charity Mazula said she has not received the case yet.local news
