    – Hammond Ranch, a private conservancy farm run by a family has donated 16 computers to Nyangambe Secondary, a school in a resettlement area in Chiredzi North in a bid to improve quality of exam results.
The donation 16 computers, a photocopier, printer and scanner were made to the school last week.
This is not the first time that Hammond has donated to the school as it has also contributed towards the construction of the two blocks at the school, sourced reading through materials for students as well as sponsoring some on the Hammond Trust Scholarship.
Education Inspector for Chiredzi District Raymond Norman Sharara who was the guest of honour at the handover ceremony said he was pleased with the donation and this will benefit even the community because of the quality of academic results that are going to improve.
"As authorities in the education sector, we are quite happy with this donation as it will help uplift the learning standards of our pupils. Computerisation of schools is the only way to go in education and we call upon other companies in the district to assist schools in whatever way they can," said Sharara.
The head of the school Wilson Muneri expressed his gratitude to Hammond for being a friend indeed. Muneri said Hammond has helped the school since its establishment in 2003 by providing building materials for the first 2 blocks as well as assisting bright pupils with school fees.
"I am very happy with the donation of the computers to the school. We appreciate the continued existence of the  Hammond Trust scholarship which supports eight brilliant students with school fees. My wish is that this win win relationship continues and one day Hammond might help us to address water crisis that the school and the community are facing" said Muneri.
The Public Affairs manager of Hammond Mike Watungwa told The Mirror that  their intention is to improve the level of education at the school and promised to continue supporting the school as part of their social responsibility activities.
