Chirumanzu RDC receives $200 000 from ZINARA

    - Chirumanzu Rural District Council (RDC) has received $200 000 as the annual disbursement for road maintenance from ZINARA.
The head of the audit department for Chirumanzu RDC Nyasha Rungano said the council will use the funds to repair five roads for the 2016 periodic maintenance.
The roads to be maintained are Mvuma-Mussena, Jema-Makanya, Tokwe 4, Chengwena, and Gangarabwe.
"We chose the major roads in the district that need maintenance. Preparations for road servicing of the five roads are at an advanced stage. We have already awarded tenders to three contactors. Servicing of the roads will run simultaneously," said Rungano.
He said apart from the ZINARA fund, council has mobilised its own funds for routine maintenance on other roads.
Road maintenance activities include gravelling, culvert construction and clearing storm water drains.
Rungano said council will also fill potholes in the Mvuma town roads as part of the road maintenance.local news
