    Shurugwi man ‘steals’ 4 250l of fuel from Zimasco


    – A man from Shurugwi has been arraigned before Shurugwi Magistrate, Tinoda Mushure,  charged with six counts of stealing 4 250 litres of fuel   from his employer Zimasco.
    Blessing Charema Zishiri (49) of Stand number 81 Lalapazi was charged with forgery and fraud after he allegedly forged his employer's signature to loot fuel at Total Zimbabwe Service Station.
    Zishiri is a Zimasco attributor who is issued with stores sales notes for purchasing fuel at Total after being authorised by Zimasco management.
    It is the State's case that Zishiri on October 27, 2015 and at Valley Mine in Shurugwi forged his Purchasing Officer Wistead Chingore's signature.
    On the same day he forged signatures of two other managers and on November 19, 2015 forged three more signatures of his managers on to allegedly steal fuel at Total.
    Toyota Zimbabwe is the complainant represented by Jimmy Kembo the company fuel attendant.
    It is the State case that on dates extending from October 28, to November 21, 2015, the accused person tendered forged Zimasco stores sales notes two times at Total and collected fuel.
    He collected 1850 litres of diesel the first time and collected 2400 litres of diesel on the second occasion.
    The scam was discovered on November 2015, when Robert Jena a Zimasco procurement clerk went to Total Valley Mine to collect the company stores sales note for reconciliation.
    When reconciling the stores sales Jena discovered that there were forged signatures signed on the sales notes.
    A report was made to Police and it was discovered that the accused defrauded $ 2 808.
    Zishiri was brought to court and was granted $500 bail.
