    – The Seventh Day Adventist Church has donated an assortment of goods to Midlands Provincial Hospital (MPH) which include bed sheets and kids toys for the children's wards.
The goods were handed over to the Hospital matron, Shirley Bushu Madziyire on Sunday last week.
Jotham Manyakara the Central Zimbabwe Conference (CZC) president told The Mirror that the SDA church gave such donations every year.
"Jesus did this as he lived in this world, we know we cannot match and do as Jesus exactly did but we can at least try to follow his footsteps.
"We have here the Dorcas Department which is responsible for Social Welfare and our children also come along to support other children since the gifts were handed over to the children's wards.
"We have donated bins, bed sheets and many items to places like Mkoba Clinic, Southdown, Senga and even in the CBD.
"Our aim is to do well and preach the word to everyone. We also believe that we live in a community with people so we have to identify and meet their needs," said Manyakara.
Present at the ceremony were MPH nurses and matrons, the SDA church members and the SDA church pastors. He also corrected the whatsapp message that circulated in the past week which said that the SDA church was hosting a health expo with 50 doctors from around the world to examine patients free of charge at the Gweru Civic Center.
"The message was not correct, we as the SDA church had our health expo where we had three local doctors one of them being doctor Phibian Mushangaidze from Claybank Pvt Hospital," he said.local news
