    Prominent Masvingo businessman’s daughter stabbed to death in the UK

    - Prominent Masvingo businessman Rennie Mahachi's daughter Leigh-Anne Mahachi has been murdered by Tapiwa Douglas Furusa (37) aka Tee Fuz in social circles believed to be her ex-boyfriend in the UK on Tuesday morning while on her way to work.
    She was 22 years old and was staying with her mother who also works in the UK.
    Mahachi said he could not comment as he was still in big shock and grief at the death of his daughter when contacted by The Mirror yesterday (Wednesday).
    Mahachi who stays in Rhodhene in Masvingo is into earth moving and excavation business and he runs a car sale business.
    A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "At around 8.15am today (Tuesday), Police were called to Spotswood Close in Gleadless Valley to reports that a woman had been stabbed.
    "The 22-year-old was taken to hospital but died a short time later."
    Investigating officer Detective Inspector Steve Ashmore said: "This is an extremely distressing incident and the victim's family is currently being supported by specially trained officers.
    "We are treating this as a targeted attack and I can reassure members of the public that we have a large number of resources at the scene and are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry to establish the full circumstances.
    "A murder investigation is underway and we urge anyone with information or anyone who saw or heard anything in the Spotswood Close area this morning to contact us."
    A post-mortem has confirmed that she died of multiple stab wounds.
    Furusa has since been arrested by South Yorkshire Police after a manhunt.
    He has been remanded in custody where he will be questioned by detectives.
    South Yorkshire Police said Leigh-Anne was found seriously injured in a property in Spotswood Close, Gleadless Valley.
    Emergency service were alerted to the incident at 8.15am.
    Paramedics were first to arrive, followed by police officers, residents said.
    Funeral arrangements had not been announced by the time of going to Press.
