Mucheke Dancehall artist mocks MMA organisers in latest single

    - Zimdancehall sensation from Masvingo's oldest suburb of Mucheke who is also a student at Great Zimbabwe University, Simon Likoma (21) aka Kaybee, released a single criticising the recently held Masvingo Musical Awards.
In an interview with The Mirror, Kay-Bee said he was not happy with what transpired at the then awards ceremony held at Charles Austin Hall in Masvingo, where he alleges that the organisers ignored other genres of music and that the event lacked professionalism.
"I am not happy at all with the organisers of the event as they lacked professionalism, favouring those within their circles as they focused on Hip Hop ignoring Dancehall music which is the biggest attraction at the moment, hence the track 'After Awards'," he said
His song, released two weeks ago, mentions how the judges awarded those who did not deserve to win the awards for example Junior Oh who was not even nominee.
"How can they make such a mistake of not having the best Dancehall artist, they were supposed to apologise during the awards for such a big mistake," charged Kay-Bee.
He also added that they ignored producers like Mankind who did quite well in collaboration projects with Cashlibs and Tman of Mount Zion Music.
Contacted for  comment one of the organisers, Proud Masekesa of PnP Global Marketing Inc, said "Our awards were balanced, we gave the award to best dancehall artist and best dancehall single, same applies to hip-hop so I don't see the basis of his argument. We had Flexxer and Junior Oh who performed at the awards and they are dancehall artists.
"Adding to that, the Dancehall guys are still a long way to go in terms of performances and luring fans as compared to Hip-hop and Afro Pop guys, particularly in Masvingo,"  Masekesa said.
He also added that they didn't ignore Mankind because he was on the nominees but  he did not get an award of Best Producer since he produced dancehall beats only. We focused on those who produced all kinds of 'beats' like Sungura, Dancehall, Hip-hop etc.entertainment news
