    – The Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Saviour Kasukuwere is this week sending a team to investigate allegations of corruption at Zvishavane Town Council.
Kasukuwere confirmed this in an interview with The Mirror on Tuesday and said he was concerned with issues of governance at the local authority and the infightings that are stalling service to residents.
He told The Mirror that there were a lot of issues that needed to be investigated including allegations of corruption.
The investigations come barely a week after council chairman Esac Dube suspended Town secretary Tinoda Mukutu over issues of insubordination.
"I am sending a team to Zvishavane this week to investigate several issues. Town secretary Mukutu was suspended and l am receiving a lot of reports from that end," said Kasukuwere
He however said he would not make comments on Mukutu's  suspension until his office has made investigations.
"Yes Mukutu has been suspended but I cannot comment on the legality of the suspension at this stage. I need to make an enquiry first so that l give a well informed position.
"What I can tell you at this stage is that there are a lot of areas of concern at Zvishavane especial concerning governance," said Kasukuwere.local news
