    Irimayi appointed Provincial Information Officer

    Rodgers Irimayi, former Bikita District Information officer, has been appointed substantive Provincial Information Officer replacing Joyce Maware who has been acting in that position for more than five years.
    Irimayi was officialy appointed on June 1, 2015 to the post but effectively took over and started working from the provincial office two weeks ago.
    "I assumed duty last Friday (18 march) after the official handover-takeover was done with my predecessor, Ms Maware. I look forward to work well with everyone in Government and the Masvingo community at large since my main duty is to ensure information about Government programs reaches the community," said Irimayi.
    Irimayi worked as Bikita district information officer for four years before his latest appointment. Before being deployed to Bikita he was at the head office in Harare for two years, he was also information officer in the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare. He also worked as the culture coordinator for Mutare District for less than six months.
    He was a correspondent for Manica Post from 2002 and he also ran a coluumn entitled 'Cultural Perspectives'
    From 2005 to 2008, he was Culture Officer in Sakubva and Chikanga in Mutare. Between 2001 and 2005 he was a music resource teacher and he worked as a primary school teacher from 1996-2001. Irimayi is a holder of a Master's Degree in Journalism and Media Studies with NUST.local news
