    Former ZANU-PF MP Dzingirai in court for theft


    Former Zanu PF MP for Chivi South Irvine Dzingirai (45) has appeared before Masvingo Magistrate Sibongile  Mkandla  facing theft charges involving 18 045l litres of petrol.
    The petrol belonged to Tashoille Trading.
    Dzingirai who resides in Rhodene was jointly charged with Martina Mushangwe (36) of Majange. It is the State case that the two entered into a memorandum of agreement with Tashoille Trading represented by Dr.W.Lagube in which the accused persons were to market petroleum products on behalf of the company.
    The State alleges that on October 22,  2015, Tashoille Trading delivered 26 200 litres of petrol at stand number 101 130 Mineral Road, Industrial site Masvingo and the two took 10 872 litres of petrol which they delivered to Rukanda Filling station in Chivi and received payment which they did not remit to the complainant.
    The two accused persons also took 1 540 litres of petrol which they supplied to Magwizi Filling Station in Mashava, another 1 546 litres to Hama in Chirumanzu and took 4 087 litres to Ndanga.
    After the deliveries, the accused did not remit the cash to the complainant and neither did they account for the petrol they took from the complainant.
    The total figure which the accused persons took from the complainant and failed to account for is 18 045 litres with a total cost of $ 23 097 and nothing was recovered.
    The State will produce documentary evidence in the form of occurrence book, memorandum of agreement and payment invoices.
    Dzingirai was told to come back to court on April 28.local news
