Tiringindi summoned to court for disorderly conduct

    Progress Sibanda

MASVINGO - Masvingo Residents Trust chairman, Prosper Tiringindi has been served with summons to appear at the Masvingo Magistrates' Court on charges of disorderly conduct and malicious injury to property.
Tiringindi, together with members of his organisation will appear on Monday next week.
He is jointly charged with Ephraim Mtombeni and Elizabeth Manaviri.
The trio was supposed to appear in court last August but the complainant (Masvingo City Council) failed to bring its witnesses.
The charges arose after the three led a group of residents in demonstrating against alleged bad governance and corruption at the City of Masvingo last July.
The demonstrators demanded the resignation of Mayor Hubert Fidze and Town Clerk Adolf Gusha who they accused of corruption in the distribution of a US$10 000 loan facility provided through the twinning of the Germany City of Kemen and Masvingo.
Fidze and Gusha denied these allegations. news
