GWERU - Tropicana Guest Lodge based along Musungwe Road in Harben Park in Gweru has been fined $150 for failure to keep a register of guests who use the hospitality centre's services.
The lodge's property would be attached if it fails to pay a fine by January 30, 2016.
It is the State case that during routine investigation detectives from Minerals and Border Control Unit in Gweru came to notice that Casim Asani (41), the manager at the lodge had not been recording particulars of clients using the lodge's services as prescribed by the law.
Asani appeared before Gweru Magistrate Judith Taruvinga.
He argued that he was not keeping the register in order to protect the names of some big clients who would not want it known that they were using the lodge.
"I was protecting my clients," he said. news
