    20 years for raping stepdaughter (7)

    Masvingo – A man from Chinoda Village under Chief Nhema in Zaka has been sentenced to 20 years for raping his seven-year- old step-daughter.
    The girl is doing grade one at Zibwowa Primary School in Zaka.
    Simon Chiore (53) appeared before Masvingo Regional Magistrate Judith Zuyu last week.
    It is the State case that on November 14, 2015 at around 1pm the complainant was playing at home with her friend who is five years old.
    The accused arrived and grabbed the complainant by the hand and dragged her into a kitchen leaving behind the other girl outside. The complainant screamed for help but the accused ignored it.
    While inside the kitchen, the accused spread a jersey on the floor, laid the complainant on the jersey and raped her once.
    At around 5pm the complainant's mother Sarudzai Chisiiwa arrived home and she noticed that the complainant was lying down. Chisiiwa sent the complainant into the kitchen and she noticed that the complainant was behaving differently.
    The complainant's mother later followed her into the kitchen and she found her inspecting her private part. She revealed what had happened after being questioned.
    The complainant was referred to Musiso Hospital where she was medically examined by a doctor who compiled a medical report.
