Gov reviews accommodation rates for training institutions

MASVINGO -  The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development has finally given Government training centres the green light to increase rates for accommodation that were pegged at a ridiculous RTGS$5 per room per person per night.
Ambassador Jonathan Wutawunashe, the secretary for Public Service Commission confirmed the development in an interview with The Mirror last week.
The rates have been increased to RTGS$150 per person per night for the private sector and $100 for Government following a story published by The Mirror in which the newspaper said that the training centres cannot even buy washing powder to  wash linen for the beds.
The Government has 13 training centres that are under the Public Service Commission and these are hired by Government departments, NGOs’ and the private sector to hold workshops and other meetings.
The new rates are effective from November 1, 2019.
